“The Gables is like a home rather than a facility. It is easier to gain a better relationship with the family.” – Kooper Christofferson, C.N.A.
“I like The Gables! My mom has been here since October of 2015. She is well taken care of. Her hair is always done. She is always dressed and clean. The Gables is a beautiful place for seniors to live. It is clean, the staff interacts with the seniors, and most of all, they love and care for the seniors. I would recommend Gables. I am happy and know she is well taken care of.” – Melissa Brown, Family Member
"For the last 4 years my wife, Kay has been here with advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease. The care she received here at the Gables is simply amazing. My stay here has been great! The help and care I have received is wonderful. I love the staff and aides. They are special people." – Frank Williams, Resident
“The Gables is truly a great place to work! I have had the opportunity to work for Gables for over four years. This is not just a job; this is my second family. I feel close to my teammates and to all of the residents we care for. There is so much love and care between staff and our residents. We have so many priceless moments created from the extra activities we get to offer. I see the passion our administrator spreads throughout the facility. Not only do we focus on the residents, but we also create a great friendly relationship with the families. It’s just all around fun here at the Gables!” – Kelsie Boyd, Caregiver
“In 2014, our Dad suffered two strokes, and was unable to live alone. Our mom passed away less than two months before our Dad's first stroke. After a few months of home care with family, it was necessary to have more care for Dad. Dad assisted us in finding the perfect home for him. The Gables of Blackfoot Assisted Living was the perfect fit for him and our family. Its proximity is close and the atmosphere is so homey, warm and cozy. We all looked at each other and proclaimed, "This is it." Dad says, “This is a great fit. Homey atmosphere and environment. This is home. The staff have been great, warm and friendly.” Dad receives great care. Care and safety issues were our biggest concerns. Dad makes friends easily, and has developed great friendships with the staff and other residents. He is easy to talk with and easy to love. He has been blessed as well as others. Thanks for all your help and care. Dad considers each of you as family. We are blessed. Dad has lived with his Gables Assisted Living family since January of 2015.” – The Family of Dee Chapman, Resident
“It has been a great honor and it has been my pleasure to have worked for the Gables. A place where you can go to work and still feel at home. I was able to go to work and see my resident’s smiling faces because of all the sincere and loving care that they receive at the Gables Assisted Living. The Gables team is deeply understanding, communicative, and has great integrity. I’ve been so fortunate to have been able to grow with this company and has helped me learn and gain so much experience, I am whole-heartily grateful for the Gables.” - Erica Russell, Caregiver, Shelley
“The help and care we received here at The Gables is simply amazing! My wife passed away June 4, 2016 and I remained here. With all my problems I cannot stay alone. I have learned to love the staff and aides. They are like family to me! They are special people and I love them all like my grandkids. We have been blessed.” – Frank Williams, Resident
I and my wife, first placed my mother, Margaret Schuetz, in the Gables for daycare. We were so pleased with the care and the staff, that when it was necessary to place my mother into assisted living, we only considered the Gables of Shelley. The warm homey atmosphere and the staff always have the residents best interest at heart. We visited my mother often, and we became very familiar and comfortable with the staff and the other residents. Because of this familiarity, I never worried that the staff or the administrator, Caroline Hansen, would be my mother's champion and always makes sure her safety and health were first and foremost in their minds. And of course, every other resident as well! I grew close with the staff and residents at the Gables of Shelley. I still visit them and keep in contact, because we are friends. Thank you so very much for all you did for my mother, my wife and I, and my family. It will be appreciated forever! – Family of Margaret Schuetz, Resident
" I wanted to thank you and your staff for all you did for our mom during her time at The Gables. Looking back the counsel you gave us before we brought mom there was tremendously helpful. She was quite mad and upset when we transferred her there. To go through that twice would have been very traumatic. It didn’t take mom too long to feel comfortable and after the first year I had to really talk hard to even get her to go drive by her house and go to the cemetery to visit dad’s grave site. She felt like she was needed right there to pray at meal times, and needed to be there to make certain it was done. She would get so upset if people would start to eat before the food was blessed. She loved being able to go to church, attend Relief Society, get her hair done weekly, and have someone do her wash. The room suggested and chosen for her proved to be perfect. She could see people come to visit, see residents sitting outside, and then join them. She watched and enjoyed the farmers outside her back window move sprinkling pipes and harvest the crops. The staff was so kind and patient with the residents. She commented that the food was always good and she got plenty to eat. We were relieved to know she had 3 meals a day, that someone was there, if she needed help, and that her meds were given to her on time. If she ever had an accident someone was there to help her clean up and not shame her. It took her a while but eventually she even looked forward to playing games on Monday and getting the chocolate treats. She loved singing the old songs and being with others by the fireplace. She got so she enjoyed the school and church groups that came to sing to the residents. She was always proud she could share her newspapers with others there. It was interesting to watch how many just looked at the ads or things for sale. You and your staff were always very kind and patient with the residents, their families and the groups that came to perform. Thank you for helping to make this a comfortable and pleasing time for our mom and her family members. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend to others you and your excellent staff and facility. Love to you and your family." Helen (Harker) / Lyn Thompson
"They Took incredible care of my great grandmother. They called us immediately when they felt she was close to passing. (She was behaving strangely). The head of the facility held her hand and talked to her until everyone could get there. Her memory was horrible, but she was given a routine and one of the CNA's would go through a labeled photo album with her everyday. It was such a nice change from "the other assisted living home" where she was over medicated until she couldn't even speak or interact with anyone. This place is truly incredible." ~ Haillie C
